Do these require sealant if installed on a shower floor? Recommend care?
We do recommend sealing marble tiles and grout after installation. Marble is a porous material, so using a penetrating sealer will help fill the pores in both the stone and the grout, keeping water out of both. Make sure your grout is fully cured and any grout haze is gently removed before applying sealant. Follow the steps on your sealant (like Miracle Sealants) for both the tiles and grout.
Test it every 6 months or so by checking to see if water beads on the surface (still sealed) or sinks in (needs to be resealed). You can use a marble tile cleaner and a soft cloth to clean tiles after showers! We recommend mopping up standing water whenever possible.
