Calacatta Gold Octagon and Thassos Square Marble Mosaic Tile
*We recommend adding an additional 15% to your overall square footage calculations to ensure you have enough coverage for waste and reserve during the installation process.
Who doesn't love the look of a Calacatta Gold marble mosaic tile? This beautiful geometric patterned tile sheet combines Italian Calacatta marble octagons with pure white Thassos squares. The marble mosaic design can easily be incorporated into a variety of interior aesthetics, from a Tuscan-inspired kitchen with a Calacatta Gold backsplash tile that adds a decorative touch, a warm and inviting bathroom suite with this marble mosaic tile on the wall behind the vanity, or as a slip-resistant bathroom floor material. It's also a beautiful choice for shower walls, or as a decorative tile accent in a shower niche!
*Natural stone such as Calacatta Gold marble includes naturally occurring veins that will vary from stone to stone. If you would like to preview the variance between sheets, please use the button to Request a Lot Picture.
*White marble may contain naturally occurring iron deposits that can lead to discoloration if used in areas prone to wet or damp, or if exposed to harsh chemical cleaners. As this is an inherent feature of the material, Tile Club does not assume responsibility for discoloration of marble or other natural stone tiles. To ensure you enjoy your white marble tiles for years to come, we recommend installing them in areas that are not prone to standing water, and regularly using a recommended sealer on your tile and grout.
Is this a glossy tile or matte finish tile? How would one protect it from stains and splatters in the kitchen?
This marble mosaic tile has a polished finish so it will have a subtle gloss. We recommend applying a penetrating sealant after the grout has fully cured. Miracle Sealant is excellent for marble as it preserves the luster of the stone. This will help seal the porous stone and grout against stains from cooking or water spots. It's best to wipe up spills and not let them sit on the surface of your tiles, but the sealant will help keep them from staining. Use a marble-safe cleaner regularly to keep your tiles looking just as beautiful as the day they were installed. With a little extra maintenance, it is easy to preserve the beauty of luxurious marble tiles, even in messy areas like your kitchen.
Test your tiles every 6-12 months to see if you need to reapply sealer - just flick water drops on the surface and see if they bead or sink into the stone. If they sink in, it's time to reapply!
