Peel and Stick Tile Installation Guidelines:

  • This marble tile is approved for indoor wall use. To use as a backsplash tile, you should always follow local fire codes when installing the stove top and confirming the distance between the heat source and the backsplash.
  • If there is no back control panel/plate on the stove that creates a separation between the heat source and the tile, you need a minimum of 8"-9" distance between the burner and the backsplash tile.
  • Do not install near open flames.
  • Ensure at least 2" between stick-on tiles and small cooking appliances (toasters, toaster oven, etc.).
  • These tiles do not need to be grouted; however, there may be some slight gaps between the Carrara discs - if you would like to fill these in, we recommend an unsanded white grout for touch ups.
  • When installing an adhesive tile fireplace surround, make sure the temperature does not exceed 120F.

*These marble hexagon peel and stick tiles are thick enough that a wet saw or tile cutter is recommended if tiles need to be trimmed to fit. See our video on cutting marble peel and stick tiles. If applying near a heat source, such as an oven range, always make sure to follow fire codes when installing peel and stick tiles. A 9" back cover is the minimum recommended distance between the stove top and beginning of the tile.

  • What are these stick on tile made of?

    Our Carrara Hexagon Marble Peel and Stick Tile are made of genuine marble! These are thin cut hexagon marble tile disks that are mounted on an adhesive backing.

  • Can I stick this over old tile?

    We don't usually recommend installing new tile over old tile, even peel and stick adhesive tile. Unless your surface is clean, smooth, and even, the adhesive backing may not be able to grip properly (glossy or textured tiles, grout lines, etc. may not provide the best bond with the adhesive backing and cause it to not adhere as well as it should). It's best used on a clean painted surface.

  • Can these tiles be grouted?

    These marble peel and stick tiles do not require grout, but you can use it to fill in any spaces between the marble discs once the adhesive sheets are installed- we recommend an un-sanded white grout that is used as a touch-up as needed. Please note that even with grout, they are recommended for indoor wall use only and should not be used in showers or on floors.

  • Are these easily removed/renter-friendly?

    While the 5" Carrara Hexagon Marble Peel and Stick tiles are easier to remove than traditionally mortared tile, the adhesive used for the backing is stronger than a temporary sticker tile - it provides a better bond and a more durable wall covering to stand up to residential use, tentants, short and long-term rentals.   • Is each individual hexagon tile 5"?

    Yes, each hexagon is 5"

  • Can these be used on a fireplace surround?

    These tiles can be used on an outer facing fireplace surround. We recommend making sure they are installed outside of the gas fireplace insert, or using a frame around a wood-burning fireplace opening so that the adhesive is not directly in the outer flow of the heat.
