Is the natural color darker than the maple?
Yes, the Japandi Natural is slightly darker and has more of a warm tone compared to the maple. We offer cut sample swatches of both if you'd like to compare in person as screen settings can change the way subtle color differences look on your device.
Can you put this over existing ceramic tile in a shower??
We highly recommend consulting with a contractor before installing any tile over an existing tile, especially in an area that will have as much water exposure as a shower. You will need to make sure that the existing shower is waterproofed before installing any tile over it to avoid issues with water leakage between the layers.
While this tile is non-porous and great for showers, grout lines, drains, etc. may allow water to pass through the top layer - a waterproofing membrane is essential to avoid water damage.
Here is our blog post on installing tile over tile with some more info - its always best to take each space as a case by case basis and assess your shower with an in-person expert to decide if you should rip out existing tile and start with a fresh underlayment for your shower tile.

Is this a removable item? I'd like to use it in a rental
Our Japandi porcelain tiles are installed with traditional tile mortar and grout - they are not a peel and stick tile, although we do carry those. However, it is a great choice for a rental, as the material is resistant to scratches, water damage, and other wear and tear! You can use porcelain tile in areas that natural wood or stone may be damaged by rental tenants because it is a very hardy but low-maintenance material.
Is this tile flat with an image that looks like it has slats printed on it? Or does it have slats/grooves? I am wanting to put in this my shower in a house we are building but want to confirm this first.
This tile does have a textured/grooved surface! It's great for a shower thanks to the non-permeable porcelain material. I've added some more photos of the tiles to show the texture, and you can also check out a video of the material here. We show the material at different angles to show the grooved surface.
