Spring reminds us that renewal is always possible, especially after a long, dark winter. The winter blues have been especially bad this year as we started to see light at the end of the tunnel and were promptly hit with COVID-19. If you need something positive to focus on, the good news is that Easter is just around the corner to bring us renewed hope, love, and joy with the promise of a fresh new start!

Due to the need for social distancing and self-isolating, we know that Easter will have to be celebrated a little differently this year. According to a recent survey, 70 percent of people in the U.S. celebrating Easter will do so at home this year  compared to 25 percent last year. Since a Stay-At-Home Easter is the best way to keep your family healthy and safe, we wanted to share some fun ways to celebrate from the comfort of your home! Here are some fun Easter activities that you can enjoy as a family and keep the holiday spirit alive while you all have a joyous Stay-At-Home Easter!

Cook as a Family

What brings together people more than food? Nothing! A kitchen is always the best place to get the whole family together, especially around the holidays. Staying home for Easter is an opportunity to appreciate being with our loved ones, and cooking is a great way to spend quality time as a whole family. From deviled eggs for an Easter brunch to traditional Easter recipes with ham for dinner, there are plenty of easy Easter food ideas that anyone of any cooking level can try.

No matter what you choose to cook, a refresh of your kitchen’s scenery will have a positive effect on your experience (especially after weeks of self-isolating in the same place). Updating your backsplash tile is the simplest way to change your kitchen’s look!  We love the brightness and elegance that our Carrara Circles mosaic tiles bring to a kitchen no matter if your style leans more to neutrals or if you choose to pair it with other bright colors.

You can also add a floral pattern to evoke the sweet smells of spring with our Camellia tile. This beautiful flower tile looks amazing in any color kitchen by adding the classic charm of white marble.

Decorate Your Eggs

Who said kitchens are only made for cooking? You’ll be surprised to see how much time you like spending in a kitchen with a bright new backsplash (especially if low maintenance tile means you spend less time cleaning). Time to bring the egg hunters together to decorate Easter eggs! A kitchen is a great place to entertain little ones with crafty activities while you cook for your family. Get everyone together for dyeing before sending them to the backyard for a mini Easter egg hunt!

Luckily for us, Easter decor appeared in stores long before it became difficult to go outside. Add egg dye to your next Instacart order, or search for local craft stores that offer curbside pickup, like Michaels!

If you have a hard time finding dye this year, a fun alternative is to use markers to write or draw on hard boiled eggs! This is a fun, minimalist alternative that’s easy to do with things already around the house!

This stunning White Striped Diamonds Marble Mosaic Tile combines Dolomite and Ice Grey marble so you can add a bright pattern with a bit of movement to your kitchen walls. This backsplash is an inviting addition to any kitchen!

Make DIY Easter Crafts

Creating your own DIY Easter crafts is another great way to relax and use your imagination this Easter, while bringing the family together for some holiday fun. Even if we’re all spending a lot more time together these days, a craft session is a fun way to break up quarantine boredom and focus on creativity! Family members far away? Host a Zoom or Skype session and craft together! That way everyone can work on their own DIY project and create an Easter centerpiece for the dinner table.

What could be a better time to dress up the space where the whole family eats and entertains? Add a ‘wow’ effect with our Mother of Pearl tiles or go with a timeless white marble subway tile for a classic look. No matter what style you choose, this is the perfect chance to add a nice finishing touch to a unique, joyful holiday kitchen.

Decorate Your Home

Guests may not be coming over but there is no reason not to dress your home in its Easter best. You can bring in the outdoors with greenery, flowers, and wreaths to add a fresh touch! If flowers are not your go-to, you can opt for colorful eggs and adorable bunnies to dress up your spaces too. Facetime or video chat with other family members to show off your décor! Decorating is also a great way to keep the kids busy on Easter morning if it’s hard to hunt eggs outside.
